The Prizes 2006

Because the Opening of the Wiener Festwochen and the Eurovision Young Musicians competition are both being held under the banner of Mozart this year, the trophy presented to the winners of the first three prizes in the Final has also been designed in commemoration of the great composer.

Taking the set of the open-air stage on Vienna’s Rathausplatz as a model, the trophy is a beautifully framed facsimile of one of the most wellknown Lieder with piano accompaniment: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Das Veilchen.
