Giorgos Mannouris comes from Larnaca. He was born on 22 December 1993, and his musicality became apparent at an early age. At the age of four and a half he started taking piano lessons with Popy Souroulla at the Lycion Elfinidon Ammochostou under the supervision of the memorable Giorgos Arvanitakis. At present he is being supervised by the distinguished pianist Christodoulos Georgiades and taking piano lessons with Popy Souroulla and soloist Nicolas Konstantinou.

In 2001 at the age of seven, he participated in the 6th International Piano Competition of the Evangelias Tjiarri Music Foundation and won the second prize for the age category 7-11. In 2003, at the age of nine, he competed in the 8th International Piano Competition of the same foundation and won the first prize for his age category. In 2004 he won the first prize in the 4th Pancyprian STEINWAY competition and represented Cyprus at the STEINWAY Festival in Hamburg. At the same competition he also won the second prize as a member of a six-hand piano ensemble. In 2005, at the age of eleven, he won the third prize at the 10th International Piano Competition of the Evangelias Tjiarri Music Foundation for the age category 11-15, being the only Cypriot to receive a prize in any category.

Giorgos has attended piano seminars held by the American teachers Betty Mallard, David Renner and Sylvia Reynolds Henry, as well as the famous German soloist Thomas Duis.
