Grand finale under the stars

The musicians will play live in an open-air concert on Vienna’s Rathausplatz for an audience of over 40,000. The young soloists will be supported by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under Christian Arming. In addition to the young musicians’ performances, a show programme is being presented. The award ceremony will be the highlight of the evening.

The ORF will broadcast the event live throughout the whole of Europe in collaboration with EBU Eurovision.

The Final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2006 will also be a tribute to Austria's greatest musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth in 1756. Together with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, all the young finalists will perform music by Mozart and his contemporaries.
